Marketing Strategies

When launching a new medical clinic, the marketing strategy must be set up on the basis of best possible return on investment. We have found that this means you have to start with a well prepared Google Ad campaign. These campaigns have been found after many years of comparison to be the most number of new patients for the least investment of money (though they are very time consuming to set up properly) The Google ads themselves are set up for the best possible return on investment- the lowest possible bidding for the best possible return. We call this the Maximum ROI Strategy. This prioritizes the cost per acquisition as being more important than the total volume of acquisitions and to achieve this we bid low, we bid smart and we avoid competitive situations.

Maximum ROI Marketing results in great value for money but you don’t tap anything like the true potential of the market and you keep yourself pegged at a lower level of new patients. Its a great strategy for small medical clinics that have limited expansion potential.

Once the clinic is established and has good cash flow, we recommend changing the marketing posture and competing for a larger market share and thus a higher volume of new patients. We call this next step an aggressive marketing posture.

Aggressive Marketing gets a worse ROI, (you pay more per new patient) but with higher volume because you are getting out into the full potential of the market. Here we are aggressively competing for the full market, and the clinic will start running at a high level of new patients, and also paying a  higher cost per new patient. This works if you have a good profit margin per patient or even if things are tight it can still work because your core overhead is now covered and you seek to maximize the available staff and rooms. The rental and staff costs stay the same as you push to ensure that every minute and every space is fully booked.

When you achieve this you can step up to more staff and a larger space, and continue to expand. Eventually you will have enough cash flow to consider taking the final step, which is to attempt a domination of your marketing space.

Dominant Marketing is the most expensive of all, and allows a very successful clinic to dominate their market and start squeezing out competition. Suppression of competition is part of this marketing strategy in that you are marketing so well that competitors struggle to get new patients. This marketing strategy suppresses existing competition and also makes it very unappealing for people to open a new clinic to compete with you. New competition can’t get off the ground, they just get choked.

So the strategies offer first value for money, then strong volume, then finally competition suppression.

We don’t recommend short cutting and moving straight to a very high budget. The steps can be moved through fairly swiftly but there is a

Medical Website

We were very proud to help Dr Scipio launch her new medical practice in Greer SC. She is a very talented and highly trained medical practitioner, including having Board Certification. Her new website was completed very rapidly and was part of our Free Medical Website Program. There was no charge for this website, and we wish Dr Scipio all the best for her future success.

Custom Advertising Websites

Sometimes when we are trying to get a real understanding for advertising in an area, we need a lot of control over our pages and rapid changes in text and format. Rather than constantly messing with our clients existing website, especially if he or she is already happy with the way it looks, we will create a custom website that we use just for the advertising. This look a bit stripped down, but allows us to create pages exactly as we want them and push people who are searching for dental or orthodontic services to those pages. We actually do a lot of work on the website we create in this way, because we want these sites to make visitors feel comfortable and we need to present a level of professionalism. Sometimes a client might have a website that is controlled by another marketing company that is using a system where every change has to be done through them – that can slow down our response to advertising and cause problems – so we have to go ahead and create a website. Also through years of research we have found that landing pages that prevent people from browsing are not ideal, a full site inspires more confidence which is important for a medical professional.

Website and Logo Graphic Design Questionaire

When starting out creating a new dental practice or orthodontic practice, it is a great idea to use a Graphic Design Questionnaire. This allows the client to clarify for himself what he is looking for, and to the pass that information to you. These are the questions we normally ask when we start out with a new client to help with that clarification process.

What is the name of your business?

Does your business have a tagline (eg “Johnson Orthodontics, Making People Smile” or something of this nature.)

Please describe what you feel are the important attributes of your business (eg friendly, competent, modern, or whatever you feel encapsulates your core business foundation).

Do you have a company slogan or mantra?

What is the overall message you wish to portray with your brand? What should people feel when they see or think of your brand?
Now summarize your above answer into 5 descriptive keywords. eg. competent, professional, warm, considerate etc.
Do you have any color preferences, or any existing colors you’d like to use?

What is your personal favorite color?

This is a very important question– Do you like any existing logos/websites, and if so, why? (Please provide link to logos/websites). If you have seen a logo or website you like and you can give us a link to view and explain why you like it, this is probably more important that anything else. This is especially true if you find a logo or website that you really love. Give us some links and tell us what you like and what you dislike about each logo or website. That allows us to see through your eyes.

Here are some words that can describe a logo. Pick any words that you feel should describe your logo:
traditional or modern.?
simple or ornate?
Sterile?
Professional?
Bright?
Alive?
Earthy?
Grounded?
Or any other words that might capture what you are looking for.

Who is your demographic types? Eg low income mothers with children or whatever it might be.  Try to give us an understanding of who will see this logo and respond to it.

Who are your competitors and how do they position themselves. (Please link to anyone you feel is an important competitor).

How do you differ from your main competitors

If you have any specific graphic icons. symbol or image that you would like to associate with your brand, please also list them or attach them.

Anything else you want to say?

Website Starting SEO

max pulse website

max pulse websiteWe recently created a new website for a medical device called a Max Pulse.

This website does not have a design as yet, but rather has carefully structured content in an effort to give the website a good starting foundation. The website is currently being indexed by Google and once it is in the index we will be working with an SEO partner in Austin to ensure that the website gains excellent ranking. However when a website is first built, it is important to make sure that is has good SEO bones. As such we tried to make sure that there were cornerstone pages for the important searches that the Max Pulse website is trying to attract. The site is supposed to attract searches for “Max Pulse” and also for “Max Pulse Training” and “Max Pulse Test”

Creating original content that reflects the device and its product offering is very important. The content must be original and the content must be interesting and engaging. In this case the Max Pulse is a device of interest to doctors, so the content can be more technical in nature, but even so, content that is too technical is no longer engaging and even members of the medical profession would prefer simple and easy to digest information.
